Vision Zero is a vision that aims to achieve zero traffic fatalities and serious injuries. Vision Zero must be backed up with purpose – intentional and prioritized engineering, enforcement, and education actions specifically focused on eliminated traffic deaths and injuries. Hawaii Bicycling League strongly advocates for the adoption of Vision Zero by the state and counties. As part of our Vision Zero initiative, we hold Solutions Meetings, Memorial Rides, and Sign Waving events to honor the person, remind everyone that we each have a responsibility, and to see what education, enforcement, or engineering improvements could prevent future crashes.
