Bicycle Disclaimer:
“We are currently limited the bicycles allowed for this event to geared road specific bicycles, no mountain bikes, electric bikes, tandems, beach cruisers, single speeds, etc (per DOT regulations). Recumbent bicycles are permitted if the rider can maintain the average speed and the rider is comfortable riding in a group. There will be a pre-ride checkout at Ala Moana park to ensure bicycles have working brakes and are in proper condition for the event. Please ensure your bike is in working condition and consider having a tune up before the event. Since riders will be arriving and starting the event before the sun is out, front & back lights are MANDATORY to participate in the ride/race. We reserve the right to refuse access to the course to non-permitted or unsafe bicycles. If you have any questions regarding a bicycle being permitted, please contact the race director. Also, please be prepared to perform your own mechanical aid as this is not a supported ride. If you are not comfortable changing a flat tire or performing basic bicycle repair, please consider taking a free Basic Bike Maintenance class offered by HBL – hbl.org/workshops.”

There will be two free workshops offered to event registrants and the general public to get them geared up for the epic ride/race. Road Cycling Skills workshop on November 11th (Sun) from 4-6pm at Kaka‘ako Waterfront Park will have you mastering your multi-speed bicycle so the long climb up the H3 (and the swooping decent) is no problem! At packet pickup (day 1) at Boca on November 14th (Wed) from 3:45-5:45pm there will be a Basic Bike Maintenance workshop where you’ll learn to fix a flat with ease and do simple maintenance to make sure your bike is ride & race ready!

There is limited space in these workshops so sign up at HBL.org/workshops to reserve your spot!

All participants get a complimentary bike prize.
