What’s there now:
Noelani Street starts at Kaahumanu Street, runs up into the heights above Pearl City, before coming to an end at Paaaina Street. The road is almost entirely residential with the wide shoulders of the road serving as a sidewalk for residents. There is currently no bike infrastructure on Noelani Street.
What the Oahu Bike Plan calls for:
The Oahu Bike Plan calls for a segment of Noelani Street to be turned into a bike route. The route would run from Hoomalu Street to Kaahumanu Street, costing an estimated $35,962 and creating 0.72 miles of bikeways. The route would allow cyclists to bypass the nearby on-ramp choked section of Moanalua Road and would connect to a planned bike lane on Kaahumanu Street,. The Oahu Bike Plan designates Noelani Street as a high priority project and slates it for short-range implementation.
What’s being done:
There are currently no plans to implement the planned infrastructure on Noelani Street.
