The Keiki Learn to Ride program is designed for children ages 5 to 14, who do not know how to ride a bike. We spend the 2 hour long course going over basic balancing techniques and advancing to pedals when students are ready. We will be practicing in a secure environment so kids and parents can feel as comfortable and safe as possible. We recommend children bring their own bicycles but students who do not have a bike and are between 3’10” to 4’10” should fit bicycles Hawaii Bicycling league can provide. Training wheels are not used as a teaching method and must be removed from bicycles prior to instruction.
Sign up below for the October 19, 2019 class, at 9:00 to 11:00. Please wear exercise apparel and closed toe shoes, NO SLIPPERS OR CROCS. Check back for other dates.
Cancellation / No-Show Fee For cancellations/no-shows with less than 24 hours notice there will be a $5.00 cancellation/no-show fee for costs incurred. If you cannot attend your scheduled workshop, please contact HBL’s Adult Education Manager at bikeed@HBL.org or text/call (808) 783-6480 as soon as possible. Because our workshops have limited numbers for appropriate instructor/student ratio, no-shows deprive someone else from the opportunity to participate. As a small nonprofit trying to change the world one person at a time, we appreciate your understanding!
