August 22, 2019 (Thu), 4-6pm
HPD District 6 (Waikīkī) Community Policing Team is partnering up with HBL to do a “Share the Road” sign waving campaign in the Waikīkī area on August 22nd (Thu) from 4-6pm.
We welcome you to make and bring your own sign with your own handmade safety message regarding bikes! Think “Share the Road”, “Drive with Aloha”, “Give 3ft to Cyclists (It’s the Law!)”, “Watch for Cyclists!”, “Mahalo for Sharing the Road!”, or make up your own friendly message of safe streets!
Location: At the Diamond Head side of the Ala Wai Blvd. (beginning of the Ala Wai Blvd bike lane)
Time: 4-6m, stay as long as you can, leave when you have to.
What to bring: Your sign (or borrow one of HPD’s or HBL’s), water
Parking: Bike over! Or for free car parking you can park in the Waikiki-Kapahulu parking lot.

Help with the biggest cycling event in the state, the Honolulu Century Ride & Aloha Fun Ride on September 29th (Sunday)! This is HBL’s biggest fundraiser ride and attracts about 2,000 riders locally and from around the world. There are over 350 volunteer positions in the days leading up to the big event (truck loading, packet stuffing, packet pick-up, and more) as well as on the event day.

Volunteers Needed: 5 volunteers
Location: HBL Office- 3442 Waialae Ave, Kaimuki
Time Commitment: 2-3 hours weekly (Office Hours: 9am-4pm, M-F)
Officer heroes spend a few hours each week at the HBL office answering phones, assisting guests and helping with tasks such as data entry, registration, mail outs and ride prep. Office Heroes learn firsthand what goes on in a bicycling non-profit and provide direct support to HBL staff. Heroes!
