Cycle Swap Meet – 12/15/19 (Sun)
HBL is holding it’s first ever Cycle Swap Meet, on December 15th (Sun) at the Honolulu Men’s Shed (near Downtown). Find new and used bikes at bargain prices, bike parts, and other bicycle-related items for great deals!

When: Dec. 15th, 2019 (Sunday)
Event Time: 1:00 – 4:00PM
Location: Honolulu Men’s Shed (619 Kukahi St., Honolulu, HI 96817)
Set-up from 11:30am-1:00pm – Help with clearing the space and setting up tables. Assist vendors in getting set-up. Volunteer PERK: Volunteers get first look and potential first dibs on all the items at the Swap Meet!
Welcome/Check-in from 1-2:30pm and 2:30-4pm – Greet people at the front desk and collect $2 entry fee for those that are not members. Verify memberships from a pre-printed member list.
Clean-up from 4-4:45pm – Help break down tables and load them in the HBL van. Assist vendors in cleaning up their space and clearing out their items. Volunteer PERK: At the end of the day vendors may be giving away their items (yours to score for possibly free!).

If you’ve ever attended the dinner you know it’s a fabulous production for ~300 guests. That wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for volunteers behind the scenes making it look amazing and have it be a fun experience for everyone! We are looking for people to help – you can sign up at volunteersignup.org/LLJTF.
Event Pre-Set: Unload, organize, and prep event equipment on side lawn.
Silent Auction Tables Pre-Setup: Place auction items on tables with bid sheets and make tables look nice.
Event Setup: Tents, tables, chairs, table covering, décor, lights, etc.
Welcome Table / Greeters: Check in guests, name tags, wristbands, etc.
Silent Auction Monitors: Make sure guests are bidding on items correctly.
Silent Auction Close Out & Organization: Prepare receipts and display board for auction winners.
Silent Auction Receipt Distributor: Give receipts to auction winners.
Silent Auction Payment Processing: Take credit cards/check/cash for payments.
Silent Auction Item Retriever: Collect auction items for winners at check out.
Donation Pledge Runners: Collect pledge sheets from guests during call for donations.
Team Mascots: Encourage guest participation in activities, cheer on team, participate in Super Bike Half Time Show. Celebrate at the end!
Cheerleaders: Encourage guest participation in activities, cheer on team, participate in Super Bike Half Time Show.
Referees: Monitor and score one of the event activities.
Bartenders: Pour and serve beverages, mark wristbands.
Appetizer Station Replenishers: Keep appetizers and plates stocked at station.
Event Support – Bus Tables, Empty Rubbish Cans: Tidy up event area during dinner.
Event Cleanup Crew: Clear tables, pack equipment, load vehicles, remove rubbish.

If NOT attending as an EVENT GUEST, please feel free to sign up for multiple shifts as long as time does not overlap.

Volunteers Needed: 5 volunteers
Location: HBL Office- 3442 Waialae Ave, Kaimuki
Time Commitment: 2-3 hours weekly (Office Hours: 9am-4pm, M-F)
Officer heroes spend a few hours each week at the HBL office answering phones, assisting guests and helping with tasks such as data entry, registration, mail outs and ride prep. Office Heroes learn firsthand what goes on in a bicycling non-profit and provide direct support to HBL staff. Heroes!
