Become a Bike Ambassador
Sometimes our staff needs help reaching out to the public to get more members and make our voice heard. Bike Ambassadors are super volunteers that help us table at events, train volunteers, recruit members, hold bike valets, and more. Bike Ambassadors are outgoing people that enjoy interacting with the public. Becoming a Bike Ambassador is the first step you can take towards volunteering for positions that require a greater level of responsibility. We have a number of volunteer positions where Bike Ambassador training is mandatory.

We always need folks to come in and help our office run smoothly. Help us stuff envelopes, make phone calls, and make membership kits. This work is the nuts and bolts that make our operation hum. If you have any spare weekday hours, come help us out in this essential way.

The Hawaii Bicycling League is nothing without its members. So, the second Tuesday of every month our team of phone bankers call and gently remind lapsed members to renew their memberships. New to phone banking? Have no fear, our experienced staff will be there to train you. Be sure to stay until the end of the night for a thank you meal and to get to know other HBL members and volunteers.
A tradition at the HBL on the 4th Tuesday of each month. Swing by to meet other members, have a snack, and help keep HBL running – bring a friend, the more the merrier. Dinner is provided. Can’t wait to see you there.
We always need ride leaders to help out with our Senior Cycling rides. It’s a fun and easy job–all you have to do is lead a group of seniors on recumbent tricycles on a leisurely ride through a local park. You’ll meet with Taylor, our Senior BikeED Program Manager, before the ride to adjust the recumbent trikes and learn the day’s route. From there on out, your job is to lead the rides on your very own trike. Don’t like the trike? Bring your own bike! Learn more about the Senior Cycling program here.

Events like the Honolulu Century Ride, Haleiwa Metric Century, and Zach’s Ride in Paradise simply wouldn’t happen without volunteers. Whether its setting up barricades, working an aid station, acting as a ride ranger, or working the merchandise tent, volunteers make the whole thing happen.
