This bicycling workshop equips riders with the confidence to ride safely on Hawai’i’s roads (with cars!). It begins with coverage of safe cycling practices, your rights as a cyclist, rules of the road, equipment safety checks, lane positioning and more. The workshop then goes over drills in a safe environment and ends with a light ride to practice what we’ve learned.This bicycling workshop begins with coverage of safe cycling practices in a classroom setting. Topics that will be discussed include: your rights as a person riding a bicycle, rules of the road, safety and visibility, equipment safety checks, lane positioning and more. The class then moves to a practice area for riding drills and covers things like scanning and signaling. Then to wrap things up and reinforce what we’ve learned we will finish with a group ride through the neighborhood, combining classroom knowledge and road skills.
