    3. Heavy Breathers Ride
      • Start time: 09:00am
      • End time: 03:00pm
      • Fun, casual ride from Waikiki Playground to Makapu'u Beach Park and back for a 30 mile ride. Part of group continues on to Kailua for lunch, then returns via coastal route to Waikiki (distance of 50 miles). We'll regroup along the route to be sure that no one is left behind!

        Meet at Waikiki Playground, corner of Leahi Ave and Monsarrat Ave, near Waikiki Elementary School at 9 am and be ready to roll at 9:15 am.

        Group to Makapuu is usually back by 12:30, and those that go to Kailua are back
        by 3 pm.

    4. SLO MO Ride
      • Start time: 02:00pm
      • End time: 04:00pm
      • Each weekly session begins with 15 minutes of bike safety, maintenance tips and bike handling education. Then we'll hit the streets for a 5-10 mile ride, at a pace of 8-12 mph.
        This ride is geared towards those new to cycling or people that need more confidence and skills to ride safely on the streets of Oahu. Or, if you just want to join a fun group of cyclists for a leisurely ride through the neighborhoods of Oahu, come out and join us! Helmets required. No earphones. Carry personal ID and have tools/tubes to fix your own flat. Also, carry your own water and snacks, if necessary.
        Rides will start at different locations each week, so please contact the ride leaders directly to be put on the weekly ride notices or to ask about start locations for a particular date.

    3. Kauai - Pedal to the Meadow
      • Start time: 08:00am
      • End time: 11:00am
      • Join us for the 4th annual official bicycle hill climb race on Kauai! Pedal to the Meadow begins at Kekaha, Kauai and climbs 3835' over 15.75 miles along the Waimea Canyon Rim, ending in Kokee State Park. After the finish, we celebrate at the top with the Banana Poka Round-Up Festival hosted by Kokee Museum and Hui o Laka.
        Registration fee is $35 until 6 pm HST on Wed. May 22nd. $45 thereafter at packet pick-up times and locations listed on website. USA Cycling license is required and can be purchased along with your registration fee.
        This race is sponsored by Tradewind Cycling Team.

        Join the Hawaii Bicycling League and your local League Certified Instructors at Traffic Skills 101 and learn advanced skills to bike safely and with confidence!

        This course will provide you with the skills and confidence needed to enjoy cycling in Honolulu. Course includes discussion on your rights and responsibilities under Hawaii law, where to ride on the road, who to ride with and where for a more enjoyable and safer experience, and how to develop your "radar" and 6th sense for safety. In addition, there will be discussion and some hands-on training on what equipment to use, clothes to wear for safety and comfort, how to fix a flat, adjust your brakes and gear, and perform other general routine maintenance. 

        Traffic Skills is now being offered at Kapiolani Community College and Island Triathlon & Bike on the following schedule:

        Classes at Kapiolani Community College:

        Classes at KCC meet on 2 Sundays, from 1pm-6pm.
        Payment will be due to the KCC Registration Office. Martin Chong (martincs@hawaii.edu) will contact registered students with more details.

        Traffic Skills 101:
        April 7 & 14, 2013

        Classes at Island Triathlon & Bike:

        Classes meet on Friday from 6pm-8:30pm and Sundays from 4pm-8pm (3 days total).
