      • Just getting into cycling? Want to exercise & have some fun? Join us for a Beginner's Ride along the bike path from Blaisdell Park, through Waimalu to the end of the Pearl Harbor bike path. We'll turn around, then return to the Bike Shop in Aiea.
        We'll also discuss bike safety, lane positioning and basic bike maintenance.

    4. Heavy Breathers Ride

      • Fun, casual ride from Waikiki Playground to Makapu'u Beach Park and back for a 30 mile ride. Part of group continues on to Kailua for lunch, then returns via coastal route to Waikiki (distance of 50 miles). We'll regroup along the route to be sure that no one is left behind!

        Meet at Waikiki Playground, corner of Leahi Ave and Monsarrat Ave, near Waikiki Elementary School at 9 am and be ready to roll at 9:15 am.

        Group to Makapuu is usually back by 12:30, and those that go to Kailua are back
        by 3 pm.

    5. SLO MO Ride

      • Each weekly session begins with 15 minutes of bike safety, maintenance tips and bike handling education. Then we'll hit the streets for a 5-10 mile ride, at a pace of 8-12 mph.
        This ride is geared towards those new to cycling or people that need more confidence and skills to ride safely on the streets of Oahu. Helmets required.
        Rides will start at different locations each week, so please contact the ride leaders directly for start locations and further details.

        Hawaii Bicycling League (HBL) Release and Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Indemnity Agreement

        By indicating your acceptance, you understand, agree, warrant and covenant as follows:

        ADULT RELEASE

        IN CONSIDERATION of being permitted to participate in any way in HBL sponsored Bicycling Activities (“Activity”) I, for myself, my personal representatives, assigns, heirs, and next of kin:

        1. ACKNOWLEDGE, agree, and represent that I understand the nature of Bicycling Activities and that I am 18 years of age or older, qualified, in good health, and in proper physical condition to participate in such Activity. I further acknowledge that the Activity will be conducted over public roads and facilities open to the public during the Activity and upon which the hazards of traveling are to be expected. I further agree and warrant that if, at any time, I believe conditions to be unsafe, I will immediately discontinue further participation in the Activity.

        2. FULLY UNDERSTAND that: (a) BICYCLING ACTIVITIES INVOLVE RISKS AND DANGERS OF SERIOUS BODILY INJURY, INCLUDING PERMANENT DISABILITY, PARALYSIS AND DEATH (“RISKS”); (b) these Risks and dangers may be caused by my own actions, or inactions, the actions or inactions of others participating in the Activity, the condition in which the Activity takes place, or THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE “RELEASEES” NAMED BELOW; (c) there may be OTHER RISKS AND SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC LOSSES either not known to me or not readily foreseeable at this time; and I FULLY ACCEPT AND ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS AND ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR LOSSES, COSTS, AND DAMAGES I incur as a result of my participation or that of the minor in the Activity.

        3. HEREBY RELEASE, DISCHARGE, AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE HBL, their administrators, directors, agents, officers, members, volunteers, and employees, other participants, any sponsors, advertisers, and, if applicable, owners and lessors of premises on which the Activity takes place, (each considered one of the “RELEASEES” herein) FROM ALL LIABILITY, CLAIMS, DEMANDS, LOSSES, OR DAMAGES ON MY ACCOUNT CAUSED OR ALLEGED TO BE CAUSED IN WHOLE OR IN PART BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE “RELEASEES” OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING NEGLIGENT RESCUE OPERATIONS; AND I FURTHER AGREE that if, despite this RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT I, or anyone on my behalf, makes a claim against any of the Releasees, I WILL INDEMNIFY, SAVE, AND HOLD HARMLESS EACH OF THE RELEASEES from any litigation expenses, attorney fees, loss, liability, damage, or cost which any may incur as the result of such claim. I HAVE READ THIS AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING IT, AND HAVE SIGNED IT FREELY AND WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT OR ASSURANCE OF ANY NATURE AND INTEND IT TO BE A COMPLETE AND UNCONDITIONAL RELEASE OF ALL LIABILITY TO THE GREATEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW AND AGREE THAT IF ANY PORTION OF THIS AGREEMENT IS HELD TO BE INVALID THE BALANCE, NOTWITHSTANDING, SHALL CONTINUE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT. Weather, In principle the event will be held even if it rains, but it may be called off or altered in case of a natural calamity (such as a typhoon and earthquake) or calamitous weather. Entry fees are non-refundable in such cases. Dangerous conduct, riders must follow the instructions given by the organizer, administrator, officials and staff, and if any dangerous conduct is apparently found, the rider involved may be requested to stop the race. In such cases riders are to consent that they will not blame or put the responsibility on the event-related parties. I GIVE PERMISION for the free use of my name, voice, or picture in any broadcast, telecast, advertising, promotion, or other account of this event.

        League of American Bicyclists (LAB) Release and Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Indemnity Agreement

        IN CONSIDERATION of being permitted to participate in any way in this Almaden Cycle Touring Club (“Club”) sponsored Bicycling Activity (“Activity”), I for myself, my personal representative, assigns, heirs, and next of kin:

        1. ACKNOWLEDGE, agree and represent that I understand the nature of bicycling activities and that I am qualified, in good health, and in proper physical condition to participate in such Activities. I further acknowledge that the Activity will be conducted over public roads and facilities open to the public during the Activity and upon which the hazards of traveling are to be expected. I further acknowledge that if at any time I believe conditions to be unsafe, I will immediately discontinue further participation in the Activity.

        2.
