Please help Hawaii Bicycling League establish its own License Plate Program. Show your cycling spirit! We need a minimum of 150 legitimate signatures and license plate numbers to establish the program, *however, signing the form does not obligate the signer to actually buying the plates or to buying the plates before their normal registration date. Proceeds from this program will support HBL's advocacy efforts and Bike Education programs for youths and adults. Read more »
Paula Rath - "Lonnie Hicks of Waikiki, age 50, could easily have lived out his life as a couch potato. He had plenty of reasons to do so. Disabled due to decades of knee problems, followed by seven surgeries to try to correct them, he became disabled, reliant on a wheelchair. Our movement for complete streets on our island starting with Waialae Avenue has mobilized the community and helped DTS push closer to realizing the project. Through multiple showings of strong community support we have gotten the official support of both City Council Members from the area and the Kaimuki Neighborhood Board! Read more »
By Mir.I.Am BikeCommuters.com - Aloha two-wheeled commuters… Just a reminder to all those reading from the mainland, Japan, and Hawaii that the annual Honolulu Century Ride is on our tails! The ride is coming up at butt-crack of dawn next Sunday, September 25, 2011 (butt-crack = 5:45am for open ceremonies). With over 2000 riders each year, 30 HBL friendship ride leaders, and a buttload of volunteers (that’s right, I said it. Buttload.) the HBL century ride is equivalent to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade for cyclists on Oahu. Read more »
